A rainy, windy and cold Sunday in Antwerp. A far cry from the nice, hot, sunny weather two weeks ago.
I played against Sofie De Schinkel (BE) my first game and won 3-0. Not the best game, but... I won.
I was supposed to play Lumi Silvan in the next round, but she never showed, so I was through to the next round without playing. :) Lucky for me.
In the next round I played against Els Verpoorten. Also Belgian and also on the National Team. I won that game too 3-0. On to the last 16 were unfortunately I came up against Anastasia Dobromyslova who was in excellent form. I did manage to nick 1 leg off her; so I lost 4-1. It was a very good game though and I'm quite happy with the way I played. Ana though just wouldn't stop hitting those trebles. :-\
Ladies Singles winner was Anastasia Dobromyslova. (no surprise there with the way she was playing) and the runner-up was Deta Hedman. Think Ana hit about 6 180's in the final.
Men's Singles winner was Jamie Hughes who beat Martina Adams in a cracking final. A truly well-deserved win from Jamie.
Youth Boys Champion was Lorenzo Schmelcher (BE) who beat Damien Gerrits (NL) in the final.
Youth Girls Champion was Tamara Van der Meirsch (BE) who beat Priscilla Steenbergen (NL) in the final.
