First of all my apologies for the late blog. Been a little busy these past few weeks.
I left for Calella on Friday morning. It was nice and warm when I got there, but quite cloudy. Taxi from the airport cost me a fortune. 70 Euros :( Next year I'll see about buses or sharing with some people.
I checked into Hotel President. Stayed there the past 2 years as well.
The singles were played on Saturday and as tradition would have it of course we started with a good 30-minute delay. :)
Lots of international top players there this year. All there to get some needed points in.
I had my points from last year to defend; thus I needed to get to the final. Unfortunately I failed. :( I didn't make it past the last 16 this year. Damned doubles. Hit two 180's but that doesn't mean you win, does it....
We were divided into two groups. I was not seeded this year. Not that it makes a lot of difference.
In my first game I played a lady from Sweden and won despite double trouble in the first leg.
I then played Isi Cahparro. The Catalunyan lady I played in the final 2 years ago. I missed too many darts at the doubles and thus lost 3-1. Thouroughly gutted about that. Gone points, no prize money...
The ladies singles were won by Sharon Prins who defended her title well :)
The men's singles were won by Alan Norris. He's on fire.
