Left for Eindhoven Airport Friday morning around 08:00H. The plane left at 12:20H filled for about 1/3 with dart players and the rest of the passengers were musicians and "regular" tourists and locals. :)
Friday afternoon there was the mixed pairs event followed by a warming-up singles event.
I finished 3rd in the Ladies warming-up event after losing to Maret Liiri from Finland. I was 2-0 up, but then her game was really starting to annoy me and my painkillers had long since worn off... Ah well... Better luck next time. :)
Kathy Geeraerts vs Signe Andersen (DK) 3-0
Tatayna Popova (RUS) vs Kathy Geeraerts 1-3
Kathy Geeraerts vs Tamara Schuur (NL) 3-1
Kathy Geeraerts vs Maret Liiri (FIN) 2-3
Maret won the warming-up Ladies event against Aileen De Graaf with 4-3.
Saturday the actual singles event was played. I was the number 7 seed which surprised me when I first heard about that a few days ago. :) Weird...
I had a bye in the first round.
Last 64:
Kathy Geeraerts vs Sofiya Longinova (RUS) 4-0
Last 32:
Kathy Geeraerts vs Sarah Rosen (SWE) 1-4
Worst game I've played in a very long time. :( Not enough trebles and too many missed doubles. Back to the practice board.
