Friday, November 22nd the 19th Czech Open started with the mixed pairs and the warming-up singles.
I played mixed pairs with Jelger Tuinstra. The first round we played a Norwegian pair; Langli/ Andersson. We won 3-0. We played very well that game.
In the second round we met a Czech pair; Zvelebil/ Korcàkovà. This was a tough game due to missed doubles and not enough trebles. We won 3-2 though.
We lost in the next round to Deta Hedamn/ Gary Thompson. Nothing went in anymore and they are a very strong pair. So, last 16 was the end for us.
The mixed pairs were won by Jim Williams/ Zoe Jones. Runners-up were Deta Hedman/ Gary Thompson.
In the warming up tournament I lost in the quarter finals to Kornelja Lusaité (LTH). Tough game. Lost 3-2. Kornelja is a 17-year old youth player, but she plays one hell of a game. A little practice on counting and this young lady has a great future in darts.
The ladies' singles were won by Aleksandra Grzesik (POL). Margaret Sutton was runner-up.
The men's singles were won by Wesley Harms. Paul Brown was runner-up.
