Another hot and bright sunny day in Selsey. Not too much wind (unlike last year).
The ladies singles were played in the tent and I can assure you it was very hot in there. :s
I had a bye in the first round and then played against Ann Morisson on board 7 in the last 128. Didn't play too badly; though I have played way better. Average game, but won 3-0. Pfeww....
Almost immediately after this I was up against Trina Gulliver on board 8. Darts went everywhere except where I wanted them to go. There was an open double door right behind me which caused a draft and since I throw like a girl.... Darts got averted to the right. :( Not an excuse. Just plain truth. so, last 64 was the end for me. 12 points, but I still have 4 boxes to repair so basically those don't do me any good.
In all fairness though; Trina played really well.
This final was also played on Sunday.

On Sunday I played pairs with Marie Groves. We won our first game. Weird game that was because in the third leg our marker fainted. Turns out the girl was pregnant and she probably had a bit too much sun Saturday and maybe not enough to eat. Who knows. In any case they picked her up with an ambulance to have everything checked at the hospital to make sure both mom and baby are okay.
Our second game... What can I say? We should've won but missed doubles and trebles and thus the pair we played won fair and square. Enjoyed pairing up with Marie though. Lovely lady.
