Today we start with the mixed pairs and in the afternoon it's the ladies' and men's pairs.
I'm playing mixed pairs with Jorgen Vandenbroucke and Ladies' with Peggy Van Ballaert.
Jorgen and I had to get right to it at 09:30H. We played against a French pair; Anthony Landreau/ Florianne Jousset. We won 3-0. Not a pretty game. How do you check out 70? D10, S10, D20. Right? :s
Anyway, we played Christopher Buckley/ Yesim Yilmaz next. Won 3-1. We then had to move to a board all the way at the back of the venue to play Jelger Tuinstra/ Marie Groves. We lost 3-0. Jelger played very well. Marie didn't play her best game, but Jorgen and I played our worst game.
The mixed pairs were won by Yoann Belchun/ Carole Frison who beat Jelger and Marie in the final.
In the Ladies' pairs we played Florianne Jousset/ Geraldine Namur. And yes, I played Florianne earlier in the mixed as well. She must really adore me now. ;) We won 3-0.
Next we played Sandrine Valverde/ Elodie Namieta. We won 3-1, but it was a hard game. Sandrine played well and so did Elodie. But, Peggy and I managed. :)
There was a bit of a "break" then and then we played Aline Villers/ Cathy Delangue. Not the toughest game and we won this 3-0 as well.
In the semis we played another elgian pair; mother and daughter; Anja Bracke/ Tamara Van Der Meirsch. Unfortunately we lost this. Should've won it, but a few crucial missed doubles and a lousy leg in between.... We lost 4-2.
Ladies' Pairs were won by Deta Hedman/ Kathy Hoggarth who beat Anja and Tamara 4-0 in the final.
Men's Pairs were won by Jeffrey De Graaf/ Wesley Harms and Sven Verdonck/ John Desreumaux were runners-up.
