This weekend is the Bull’s German Open 2013 in Bochum, Germany. Starting with the warming up pairs Friday night.
I picked up Anca Friday around noon and off we were to Bochum. Not a very long trip; 2 hours normally.
Last 15 km took the most time as they are still working on that last stretch of highway and also in the inner city. :(
We arrived at our hotel, checked in and decided to explore the city some. Mainly in search of a decent bite to eat.
We eventually had some pasta at a little Italian place in a shopping mall. Afterwards I grabbed a Caramel Macchiato to go @ Starbucks. :)
We went to the venue around 18:30H and had our first game at 20:25H. We played against Regula Christen and her daughter Sarah Speck; both from Switzerland. We won 3-0.
Next game we played against two local guys and won 3-2. We didn’t really play our best, but … We won so we were through to the next round.
Last one it turned out as we lost 3-0 to Arno Merk and his pairs partner. Very good player and well… Neither of us was hitting the correct trebles enough.
Better luck in the singles hopefully. I’m playing at 11:30H on board 67.
