German Open 2013-2

We were at the venue pretty early this morning. No point in hanging around at the hotel. There is no Internet available and it's basically 50's style :-\

My first game was at 11:30H so that gave me plenty of time to wake up. I had a very bad night and only slept for about 3 hours...

I won my first game against a Dutch woman. My scores were pretty good all throughout the game. Checking didn't go too smoothly the first leg, but I won 3-0.

2nd game was at 13:30H; again on board 67. I played against Janni Larssen from Denmark. Nothing went in. It was almost as if it just wasn't meant to be. I kept hitting treble one and treble five right in the corners. In other words; wrong side of the wire. I lost 3-0. And believe me; it doesn't really help when people tell you that your darts are actually in the correct area. :( Really? Sure; it's only off by the wire, but it's still OFF.

I was so terribly disappointed because I lost and because in my opinion I played absolutely shite. Janni played well, so yeah, she deserved to win, but that didn't really "soften" the blow.

Deta Hedman won the ladies singles from Sharon Prins and Geert De Vos won the men's singles final to Stephen Bunting.

Proud of Geert as he defended his title and thus won the Bull's German Open for the 2nd year in a row.

Hopefully I'll get some more sleep tonight. We are going out with some of the guys though.
