Singles today. Slept reasonably well and I am hoping to pick up some points.
Things already started brilliantly at breakfast though... A busload of German tourists. So we hadto wait in a long queue. Even though we were not part of the German group we were not allowed to sit in the "business corner". Next time I will just sit there instead of asking if I can.
Bread rolls were not freshly baked, I can tell you that much. Not that much choice either. Scrambled eggs were okay. And they charge €9,85 for that?! Seriously...
The singles started at 10:00H after the ceremony and after the prices of the warming up were given. I got a certificate and... €5. My entree fee ;)
I was on board 20. Bye in the first round. Opponent didn't show and so my first game was the board final. I lost 4-2 to Maria Lindstrom from Finland. Played lousy after it went 2 all. No trebles at all. She did hit the trebles. End of story in the last 16.
Veronika Ihasz from Hungary won the ladies singles. Runner up was Stefanie Luck from Germany.
Men's was won by Zdravko Atunovic from Croatia and runner-up was Geert De Vos.
