On Sunday the Ladies and the men's pairs were played. I played pairs with Brenda Dyer.
Again the format was best of 3, 501. We struggled a bit with our first game, but we managed to win. :) We played on board 12; which was located right on the corner near the control desk. Everyone playing or watching on the other boards had to pass by us and there was not a lot of room, so... You can just imagine, right.... We played the board final right after our first game. (not a lot of pairs entered) We played Anneke Kuijten and Zoe Jones. We lost... Both played really well.
The ladies' pairs final will be Anneke Kuijten/ Zoe Jones vs Sue Cusick/ Fallon Sherrock.
The men's pairs final is between Ross Montgomery/ Martin Adams and Martin Atkins/ Allan Edwards.
All finals I must say were cracking games; especially the men's final. :)
