Well, it certainly has been quite a while since I wrote my last blog :)
As most of you know I haven't traveled the circuit in about 3 years. I am planning on picking it up again, but that will all depend on the outcome re the future of the BDO...
On Friday evening I played pairs with Josina Cuijpers.
There weren't a lot of pairs and we played in groups. We were in a group of 3.
Anita Tobia/ Lynn Bartzen and Jessy Devisscher/ Wendy Lorteeuw
It was hot outside with temperatures over 30 degrees, but it was hot and humid inside the venue as well, so playing darts was soon making everyone hot, sweaty and sticky. :(
In any case Josina and I won both games in our group. Played very well.
Unfortunately we ended up waiting for 2 hours or so before we got to play our next game.
We were up against Veerle Hamelink/ Anouk van Es and won this game. Didn't play as well as in the group games though.
In the semis we played mother/ daughter Gina D'Hondt/ Femke De Vuyst. We won this as well though it wasn't an easy game. Thus Josina and I were through to the final.
In the final we were up against Deta Hedman/ Maggie Sutton. Hardly hit any trebles in this game. It was late, it was hot. But, happy with the result and well proud of Josina as she'd never played in an international tournament before. Big thumbs up there.
