This weekend the 4th edition of the Romanian International Darts Open will be held in the Interconinental hotel in Bucharest.
I flew in Wednesday so I could catch the demo of Darryl "The Dazzler" Fitton and Tony "Silverback" O'Shea at Vlad's bar; Cetatea Berarilor. Place was pretty crowded, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed and it was great to see everyone again.
Since there was no darts Thursday I went to Afi park (mall) and the oldtown after breakfast with Volker. A dart player from Germany I met here 4 years ago. Afi mall is huge. It has only 2 floors but it has an ice skating rink, a big play area for kids with bumper cars, roller coaster, ... Amazing. There is also a karting track on the 2nd floor in the parking garage and

Breakfast in my hotel leaves quite a lot to be desired, but I had a Lemon tartlette and a Caramel Macchiato at Starbuck's which kinda made up for that. :)
In the evening we met up with the gang at Bubu's bar; Terasa Florilor. Mihaela baked apple pie, pumpkin pie and tiramisu. The apple pie was to die for. Didn't taste the pumpkin pie and tiramisu, but pretty sure that was heavenly as well.
Afterwards we went to the True club where there was live music. It was kinda like an open mic night, but I must say there were a few very good singers.
Got back to my hotel around 04:00H. It really was that good.
Tonight at 19:00H the warming-up tournament starts. Looking forward to it. Also looking forward to seeing the rest of the gang again.
My first game was against Daniela Anca Comeaga. I had double trouble and was 2-0 down before I knew it. I did win 3-2, but actually she deserved to win. It was only because I managed to hit the winning double in the deciding leg. :s
My next game was against Maret Liiri and I am happy to say that I finally won against her. :D It was a very close call and I had loads of luck in the deciding leg though. She missed a lot of doubles. I was 2-0 up but then we were 2-2. In the deciding leg she could've hit a 14D, but missed her doubles...
I won the warming up against Anelia Eneva (Bulgaria). 4-3 so that was also a very close game. Wasn't quite focused because of exhaustion creeping in, but... Happy.
