Well, all I can say is that the Romanian Darts Festival didn't go as planned for me.
First of all though I would like to thank Team Rebel (Australia) for the support in this tournament. Very much appreciated.
Friday night started with the warming up tournament in which I drew Marjolein Noijens (NL) first round.
I battled back to 2-2 and then couldn't hit a single 3 to save my life. I had left myself on 7 and thus needed single 3 to leave double 2.
Marjolein needed double 1 and I think both of us missed plenty. She got it eventually though, so I lost 3-2.
On Saturday the RCDO (Romanian Classic Darts Open) was on with my first game at 1000.
I played Margaret Sutton (ENG) and unfortunately lost 4-2. I missed about 9 darts on D16 to make it an even 3-3. Horrible.
Maggie deserved the win though and she went on to play a very good tournament. She lost the final on Sunday 3-5 against Karolina Podgórska (POL).
The winner in the Men's Singles was John Michael and the runner-up was Derk Telnekes.
On Sunday the RIDO (Romanian International Darts Open) took place and my first game was against Sandra Page (ENG)
Really struggling and was 3-0 down. Managed to fight back to 3-3 and then missed 12 match darts on D10. Wired all but the last three. Absolutely gutted and not happy at all with my game.
The RIDO Ladies' Singles champion is Aileen De Graaf (NETH) and Deta Hedman (ENG) is runner-up.
The RIDO Mens Singles champion is Dave Parletti (ENG). Runner-up is Gary Robson (ENG).
Back to the practice board for me as the Bauhaus Dutch Open is on next weekend.
