Arrived at Glasgow airport last nigt. Was on the 20:35H Easyjet flight together with Anca Zijlstra, Wesley "Sparky" Harms, Tamara Schuur, Dennie Bos, Rick Hofstra and Mark Oosterhuis.
Anca and I are staying at the Abbey Inn in Paisley. The venue is the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew.
The singles are played today in two sessions. The first session between 10:00H and 16:30H. Anca is playing in the first session at 10:36H. I am playing in the second session at 17:30H. I have a bye in the first round and then I am playing against Angie Johnstone from Scotland.
Fingers crossed and hope we have a great day.
Anca lost in the last 64 to Julie Gore 3-2.
Long day yesterday as I was already at the venue before noon.
The fire alarm went off during the afternoon session, but apparently that happens every year.
I didn't play too badly my first game. Though I did have double trouble and gave away 2 legs. I was 2-0 up against Angie Johnstone. She had a few loud supporters who basically annoyed me and ticked me off enoug to finish it. 3-2.
My second game I played against Julie Thomson. I was 2-0 down because of missed doubles but fought back to 2-2. Honestly we both played well below our normal levels. Deciding leg I missed 100 check out and Julie checked 80. She deserved it though.
