Last Friday I left for the Scottish Open from the Amsterdam (Schiphol) airport.
The flight was delayed for 3 hours, thus I spent 5 hours at the airport. Let me say I wasn't very happy.
Luckily I didn't have to play in the mixed triples in the evening. I did go to the Normandy though to pick up my players card for the singles event.
Saturday I went to the Normandy to get in some practice before my game in the afternoon. Practice went very well I must say. Hit everything I wanted to hit.
Threw a few practice darts before the game started and hit a 180. Felt ready and really good going into the game against Linda Ithurralde.
Unfortunately... During the entire game my darts barely hit a treble. Just above and just below T20, but not in the bed. Really disappointed about my game. Lost 3-0.
The 2019 Scottish Open Ladies Champion is Lisa Ashton. Runner-up is Fallon Sherrock.
The 2019 Scottish Darts Men's Champion is Wesley Harms who won a cracking final against Cody Harris.
Totally forgot that I had entered for the pairs as well as I didn't have a pairs partner. Luckily they managed to hook me up with someone :) Michelle Wootton to be exact.
We got introduced about half an hour before our first game :D
We didn't do too badly for two total strangers hooking up to play pairs :D
L64: Claire Cruckshanks/ Karen Cruckshanks vs Kathy Geeraerts/ Michelle Wootton 0-3
L32: Jade Fraser/ Laura Clarke vs Kathy Geeraerts/ Michelle Wootton 1-3
L16: Lindsey Ashton/ Christine vs Kathy Geeraerts/ Michelle Wootton 3-0
The 2019 Scottish Open Ladies' Pairs Champions are Deta Hedman/ Beau Greaves who beat Lisa Ashton/ Maria O'Brien
The 2019 Scottish Open Men's Pairs Champions are Diogo Portela/ Cody Harris who beat Martijn Kleermaker/ Chris Landman.
Had the pleasure to meet Diogo Portela, Cody Harris and Jamie Caven this weekend. Ashamed to say I didn't recognize Cody at first. :$
Never flying with Easyjet again though as the flight home was also delayed by an hour.
Off to the Slovak Open next weekend. Curious about that one.
