Friday night and a big crowd in the venue of the Sunparks Masters 2014. There are two halls in which the events will take place.
Tonight we play the mixed pairs and the "amateur" tournament.
I am playing pairs with Bryan Snyders. He is a youth player and it's the first time we're pairing up. Played pairs with his older brother a few times.
The dart boards were of a brand I'd never heard of before; Havik and they were rock hard. Not so nice to play on; especially not when you have a "soft" throw.
It was too crowded and too hot in the venue, but hey... When is it ever ideal for everyone? :)
We played fairly well throughout the entire night. Unfortunately missed a few crucial match darts in the last game which cost us the match. Pity because we could've gone a bit further than the last 32.
Kathy Geeraerts/ Bryan Snyders vs Kristof De Potter/Sabrina Eeckhoudt (Bel) 3-0
Patrick Creemers/ Daphne Vleeshouwers (NL) vs Kathy Geeraerts/ Bryan Snyders 0-3
Didier De Vuyst/ Gina D'Hondt (Bel) vs Kathy Geeraerts/ Bryan Snyders 2-3
Kathy Geeraerts/ Bryan Snyders vs Jermaine Wattimena/ Anne-Marij van den Boger (NL) 2-3
Bryan was very disappointed and mad at himself. No need for that though. He played very well all night and we both missed match darts. Better luck next time. Simple as that.
The mixed pairs winners were Sam Head/ Fallon Sherrock (ENG) and Josh McCarthy/ Josie Patterson (ENG) were runners-up.
