Swiss Open 2014

Friday night I arrived in a still sunny and warm Switzerland. Apart from 2 traffic jams the trip went smoothly. :)

After checking into my hotel I went straight to the venue since I was registered to play in the blind draw pairs tournament. My partner was Sarah Speck from Switzerland. Lovely young lady.

We lost in the first round though against Anita Tobia (LUX) and Steven Marckoviak (GER). Steven wouldn't stop hitting trebles and Anita checked out 110 for the match after I missed 155 on double 19. Ah well... Just a warm-up for fun anyway. :)

Saturday and the weather is lovely in Lausen, Switzerland. About 30 degrees. Bit too warm for my liking, but then the weather is always nice and sunny during the Swiss Open weekend. :)

The format for us ladies is best of 3 sets, best of 3 legs. Not my favorite, but... The same every year here.

First round I had to play Anita Tobias (LUX). I took my revenge for yesterday and a game from a few years ago in France. ;)
My first leg was absolutely crap though. 41-41-41-45..... :s Horrible. Anyway; I won 2-0 (2-1;2-1) after missing 140 for the match on D10.

Next game was against Daniela Büel (SWI). Tough game actually. Didn't play my best game, but struggled through and won 2-1 (1-2;2-1;2-1).

I then played and lost the quarter final against Aileen De Graaf (NED). Don't know why, but I never play well against her. Had one chance to take a leg, but screwed that up completely. So, lost 2-0 (2-0;2-0)

Ladies Singles' winner: Aileen De Graaf

Ladies' Singles runner-up: Deta Hedman

Men's Singles winner: Remco van Eijden (NED)

Men's Singles runner-up: Stefaan Deprez (BEL)

Youth Boy's winner: Javanico Jansen (NED)

Youth Boy's runner-up: Jesper Nijman (NED)

I finally started my journey back home at 21:00H and arrived at 03:00H :)

Always enjoy the Swiss Open. Always great to see that bunch again :D
