This past weekend Tops of Ghent took place in the Topsporthal van Vlaanderen in Ghent.
There was a warming-up tournament on Friday, but I had an SLDL game, so I didn't go.
This was won by Robbie Green and Rachna David.
Saturday the Singles were played. I didn't do too badly actually. I am all in all satisfied with the way I played. Everything went relatively smooth. Meaning scores and doubles. :)

So, I "crashed" in the last 16 against Ana. No shame there. ;)
The game against Kristie was a bit of a cliffhanger. I was 2-0 down, but won 3-2. I should have taken the first leg, but missed too many darts on my double, so Kristie took it out.
In all but one leg it was a matter of who'll hit that double first. I thought it was a pretty good game.
Now the game against Ana..... I had the chance to be 2-0 up, but I missed my doubles. In the first leg I missed 55. (single 15, no score, corner of double 5) I never got the chance to try for double 15. In the second leg I had 56 left. I hit an 8 instead of 16 and instead of hitting another 8 or 16 I hit 7. I then wanted to hit 9 to leave myself 16, but instead hit treble 14. :s Very frustrating at that point.
Not a chance in the 3rd and 4th leg as I hardly hit any trebles and against Ana.... You really need to hit those... A lot.
But, as I said. I am satisfied and I played well.
On Sunday the pairs were played. As always I played mixed pairs with John Desreumaux. We had a bye in the first round and were then up against another Belgian pair; Tanguy Bora and Carine Dessein. We lost 3-1. We had chances, but ... Better luck next time.
In the Ladies Pairs I played with Anca Zijlstra. In the first round we played Wendy Decender and Mieke Dewaegemaker and won 3-0. In the second round we actually really struggled against Iris Degloire and Carine Vandenbossche. Nothing seemed to go right anymore. We were 2-0 down because of missed doubles, but eventually won 3-2. We were in all honesty VERY lucky to have still won that game.
We lost the round after against Sue Gulliver and Paula Jacklin 3-1. We did have chances to make it 2-2 and maybe even win, but we didn't. At that point we did play better but not good enough against those 2 ladies. :)
But, all in all I'm quite satisified with the overall results of this past weekend. Last 16 in both the Ladies Singles and the Ladies Pairs.
